we are a project group in school who are assigned the task of "building a tool for end-users of spreadsheet programming that can help to reduce any wrong confidence in the results of the calculation an end user might have" (more on our course homepage: http://www.cs.chalmers.se/Cs/Grundutb/Kurser/itProj3/html/course-home.html ).
jeks' open source nature fits our purposes well, seeing that we will integrate our tool with jeks. now, the question is, what is a fitting end-user programming error for us to solve? It would be interesting and rewarding to solve a real problem rather than being attending to theoretical wanking. I presume that both the user and developer communities surrounding jeks has some ideas on this.
